5 secrets for productivity || ft. kabbage

Hello There!

I know I am not the spokesperson for having it all together, so for this post I am partnering up with kabbage.com! It's a website for fast and easy business loans. It's easy to be productive with the help of an efficient and comprehensive website. As I embark on my last semester of my last year of high school, I decided to reflect upon the tips and techniques that got me through these last four years.
Here are my five secrets to productivity:

#1 // start with a list: Before you start work, write down a list of things you would like to accomplish. It makes everything really easy to do, and the satisfaction of crossing tasks off of a list is one of the top best feelings in the world. Also, when you start with a list, you don't feel overwhelmed with the amount of stuff you have to do.

#2 // give yourself time: Make a timeline, or calculate mentally how much time you think it would take to get everything done, if you were working really slowly. If you make a timeline based around the idea that you won't get up from your desk for eight hours, you are not being realistic, and you will not meet your timeline. Calculating how much time you need allows you the freedom to do what you need to do to the best of your abilities, and it is much less stressful to work when you keep track of everything you do.

#3 // take a break: When you make a timeline, account for breaks, and lots of them. For me, I take a lot of breaks to drink lots of tea and clear out my mind. Even if you don't think you need a break, take one; it will give you more energy. I have found the perfect ratio: for every hour or two of work, I take a ten minute break. Go to the bathroom, refuel, etc. It makes a world of difference.

#4 // food for fuel: Eat food that will fuel you up for studying, AKA not junk food or candy. I like trail mix or yogurt or an apple with tea or a smoothie. Make something that has nutritional value. It will give you energy to work without a crash. Plus it's probably much better for you than a couple pop tarts.

#5 // make it fun: Play music, or work with a friend, to make time go by faster. I have made countless playlists for all of my work moods to make studying easier. Jam to some tunes and make it happen.

What do you do to be productive?
