Spring Nails || Reviews and Swatches

Hello There!

I have been writing blog posts like a madwoman today! Today I thought I would share my top 5 favorite polishes. I would make a video about this, but I think it might be a bit short, so I have a fun video coming up instead :) I love bright, cream-finish polishes for the spring and summer, and you may find that there is a pattern in the polishes I love. As always, I took some photos!

All of these polishes are opaque in 1-2 coats, and the polishes are all bright and vibrant. You may notice a theme: I love Sally Hansen! The formula is really nice, and they have a beautiful shade range. I actually prefer the original Sally Hansen: Hard as Nails range, because the formula does not get as gloop-y as the extreme wear line. Unfortunately, the Sally Hansen: Hard as Nails range was a part of a summer collection that is limited edition. However, if you are desperate to find these polishes, you can find Nail'd it! here, and Love Rocks here! I love the formula because it is thin, but extremely pigmented.

If you are looking for a little splurge, Butter London's Trout Pout is a neon peach polish that makes you look super tan and and is just gorgeous. Beware: this may stain your nails, so put a base coat on before applying! It is a bit price-y, but I have not found a dupe, and I really think it's worth the money.

I love these polishes, because they are bright, fun, and make me feel happy!

What are some of your favorite spring and summer polishes?

QOTD || Forgive and Forget

Hello There!

Today I was thinking about my bad habits, and I realized that one of them is to forgive and forget. I always dwell on things I cannot change, and I wish that I could just be able to move on! I found this cute little quote today that really made me think.

We should all learn to forgive, apologize, and move on, because staying mad only makes you sad, and who wants to spend their life being unhappy?

Have you learned to forgive and forget?

wish, wish, want || etsy #4

Hello There!

I have not noodled around the internet in ages, so today out of boredom and sheer exhaustion I decided to go on one of the cutest online shops: Etsy! For those who do not know, Etsy is like Ebay but it is all handmade, so you can find beautiful quality products. Here are some of the things I found and might just buy!

I have been loving dainty pieces, because I love light jewelry in the spring and summer. These pieces are all so cute! I think I may just have to buy some :)

Have you discovered Etsy?

...And Life Goes On

Hello There!

My life has always been a bit of a disappointment. And sometimes, just when I think it can get better, it gets surprisingly worse. So I have come up with a few little phrases to remind myself that everything will be okay and work out in the end.

My favorite, and the one that I probably say the most, is that life goes on. And it does! Life does not stop to take a breather every time you want to. I am not saying that you have to get up, but I love the quote that, if you fall, fall on your back, so even if you cannot get up, you can look up. This always sticks with me when I feel like there is no chance of me getting up in the morning or making it through the day. So remember to always look up and look forward, and life will go on, even if it has to give you a little push to go with it.

Everything happens for a reason. Whether it's a horrible mistake or an unfortunate mishap, it will turn out to help you in one way or another. Sometimes I feel like I have slipped up and my world is going to collapse around me, or that I can never recover from such a failure. But even if the mistake helps you learn a lesson, or doesn't teach you anything at all, it will be for the better, I promise!

Never regret something that once made you happy. It's hard, because sometimes something that might make you happy in the moment may fill you with regret the next. If eating another brownie made you happy, then don't get angry at yourself afterwards! You ate the brownie, and it's over, which brings me to my next point.

Don't try to fix something you can't change. If it happened, it's over now. Learn to reflect, and not dwell. This is one of my biggest habits, because I always thought that if I could think of all the things I did wrong or all the things I could have done that I would be happier, and be able to fix the issue of it came up again. But dwelling only makes you sadder, and more angry at yourself.

After living on this earth for 15 long years, and I have come to the realization that I know little to nothing more now about how life works than from when I started. However, I do know that these tidbits I share with you have helped me deal with all the obstacles thrown at me, from moving to America, to my middle school years, and now to my high school problems. I wish I could say I have learned a lot along the way, but I haven't. But life goes on, doesn't it?

Have you learned anything along the way?

QOTD || A Little Love

Hello There!

Today I was feeling a little down, so I was surfing the internet when I found the blog of one lovely Kandee Johnson. I will link her blog and youtube here. She has the best attitude towards life, and I highly recommend you all go watch her! Her classic quote is:

Remember: "you're more beautiful than you know, more talented than you think, and more loved than you can imagine"~ your kandee

She is an amazing woman, and hearing her kind words today made me feel better about the rubbish time I have been having recently. So believe in yourself! You are one million times better than you think you are.

Have you been feeling down too?

Beauty Blogger Tag | A Chatty Post

Hello There!

Two blog posts in one day? I am crazy! Today I was in the mood for a tag, so I found one that lets you know a little more about me!

1. Is your hair naturally curly or straight?
When I was little, I had clown-curly hair, but now it's wavy/straight. I love to leave it natural, but sometimes I straighten it to get a more sleek look.

2. What is your natural color?
I have never dyed my hair! I love my natural color- It's a unique, auburn shade, and people dye their hair to look like mine. I'm lucky!

3. How often do you wash your hair?
I wash my hair once a week, because it really does not get very oily.

4. Do you wear the style the same hair style every day or do you change it?
I change it occasionally. I like wearing my hair natural, which is somewhat wavy, sometimes I straighten it, or if I'm feeling crazy I will curl it too. I tend not to style my hair because I don't like to use too many products or over-style my hair.

5. Do you do your own mani/pedi or go to a salon?
I think I have been to a salon once or twice in my whole life! Every sunday I do my nails before the week begins, so I am always changing colors, and it would be much too expensive to go to the salon every week!

6. How often do you change your polish?
Like I said, I change every week. However, if I have the time I will change my polish more often.

7. How long does it take you to put on your makeup?
In the mornings before school, I can fly through my makeup and finish within 10 minutes. However, when I have to get dolled up on the weekends or for holidays I like to take my time. I think it is so fun to spend time blending and carefully choosing colors, instead of just throwing it all on!

8. What do you do first? Face or eyes?
I always do my face first, because I never do an eye look that is so crazy that there is enough fall out to the point where I can't just brush it away.

9. Do you "collect" makeup or just buy what you need when you need it?
I used to collect, but for the past few months I have been on a makeup hiatus. I now really appreciate the makeup I have!

10. How often do you wear falsies?
Only when I performing in a dance shows. I find them too much of a nuisance to deal with on a regular basis.

11. Do you wear a full face of makeup every day?
Other than foundation, I do wear practically a full face.

12. Do you wear makeup when you are home alone or with family?
No way! When I am alone or chilling with the family I like to give my face a break.

13. Will you leave the house without makeup?
If I am just going to the shops, yes, but if I know that I will see someone I will throw on powder and mascara- something light.

14. How much high-end makeup do you own?
Not a lot; I am a drugstore girl at heart! But every so often I like to treat myself to something fancy, like a MAC lipgloss or a Stila eyeshadow.

15. How often do you wash your makeup brushes?
I try to wash them every week or so, but sometimes I just don't have the time! I wear mostly neutral makeup, so I never feel like I have to wash out dark eyeshadows or heavy blush.

16. Do you plan your outfits the night before, or do you decide when you are getting dressed?
I used to try to plan my outfits, but I have slowly gotten lazier, and now I pick random clothes at 6 in the morning!

17. How often do you change your handbag?
Very rarely! My favorite is the Bayan Hippo Messenger Bag, so I never really want to change my purse!

18. What time do you get up and go to bed?
I go to bed at 11 and get up at 6. Yay for school!

19. How often and when do you work out?
I dance 4 days a week, and I run every sunday.

20. Left or right handed?
Right handed.

21. How tall are you?

22. Do you speak a foreign language?
Oui, Francais!

23. How many pets do you have?
One poodle named Macy.

24. How often do you blog?
I try to blog every weekend, but sometimes the time gets away from me, and I am much too busy during the week!

25. Do you keep a list of products to try as you see other posts and videos?
When I first started watching Youtube videos, I had a notebook, and I would constantly write lists! But now that I know much more about makeup, I will sometimes just write a product or two on a sticky note.

26. How did you come up with your blog name?
I talked about this in my first ever blog post, which I will link here. Basically, I have lived in Britain and America, and I love all things beauty!

27. What camera do you use?
Sony Cybershot.

28. What is your favorite color?
Lavender and kelly green.

29. What is your favorite beauty/fashion magazine?
I have a love/hate relationship with Seventeen- sometimes it's great and informative, and sometimes it's rubbish!

30. What are you doing with the rest of your day?
Going to bed! I am exhausted.

I hope you learned a little bit more about me! Do this tag and leave it as a link below!

What else do you want to know about me?

Wet N Wild Blushes! | A Rediscovered Love

Hello There!

I know, I know, I have been MIA for a very long time, but I have been working through some half-empty products and have dug back into my collection to find some real gems, one of them being these amazing Wet N Wild blushers. The pigmentation and lasting power is incredible, and is worth way more than the $3.00 price point! There are four shades available, two matte and two shimmer, however I own three.

Berry Shimmer is a beautiful berry pink with gold shimmer. I think this color would look gorgeous on darker skin tones. I wore this color in the winter because it made me look fresh-faced and gave me a warm glow. Mellow Wine is the only matte blush I have from the collection. I love this shade because it is the color that I naturally flush too, which makes it wearable all year round. The third blush I have is Pearlescent Pink, which has been named a dupe for Nars Orgasm, and I can see why. It is a pink-y peach shade with gold shimmer that would look great on just about any skin tone in the spring and summer.

Overall, I think these blushes are fantastic! You get a lot of product for a great price, and they come in four universally flattering shades. I wish Wet N Wild would come out with more colors! The staying power and pigmentation is comparable to some of the higher end brands, making these blushes a complete bargain. My favorite shade is Pearlescent Pink, because it looks great on my skin tone and gives me a lovely glow.

Which shade is your favorite?
